Why Entry Methods Differ Across Regions
Raffall operates in multiple countries, each with its own laws around competitions, prize draws, and sweepstakes.
To make sure every competition on our platform is compliant, fair, and open to as many people as possible, Raffall automatically adjusts the entry mechanism based on where the entrant is located at the time of entry.
This ensures your competition is fully compliant, no matter where your entrants are based — you don’t need to make any changes yourself.
How It Works
When someone views your competition, Raffall automatically detects their location and shows them the correct entry option for their region.
The entry type will depend on whether they’re in a Prize Competition region (like the UK) or a Sweepstake region (like the US).
You’ll still receive the same amount per entry, regardless of the entrant’s location — only the entry method changes.
The Two Entry Mechanisms
1. Prize Competition Entry
Used in regions like the United Kingdom.
- Entrants buy their entries directly.
- All payments are treated as direct entry purchases.
2. Sweepstake Entry
Used in regions like the United States.
- Entrants do not buy tickets directly.
- Instead, they purchase Raffall Tokens, which allow them to play games on the platform.
- The token purchase rewards them with free entries into your sweepstake competition.
The key difference is legal, not practical — hosts still receive the same value per entry.
From a user’s point of view, it’s a seamless process that ensures compliance with local sweepstake laws.
Games of Skill (Sweepstake Regions Only)
In sweepstake regions, entrants can also use their Raffall Tokens to play games of skill on your competition page.
- These games give entrants the chance to win additional entries based on their performance.
- For example: reaching a certain score in a puzzle or trivia game may unlock bonus entries.
This adds an engaging, skill-based element while ensuring compliance with regional sweepstake regulations.
Example: Same Competition, Different Views
Let’s imagine you’re hosting a public competition in the UK.
| Entrant Location | Entry Type They See | What Appears on Screen |
| 🇬🇧 United Kingdom | Prize Competition | “Buy Entry” button and optional skill question |
| 🇺🇸 United States | Sweepstake | “Get Free Entries” when purchasing Tokens + skill games |
What Hosts Need to Know
- Raffall automatically manages all compliance — you don’t need to configure anything.
- All entrants contribute the same amount per entry, no matter where they’re located.
- The system ensures your competition remains fair, transparent, and legally compliant worldwide.
Entrants in sweepstake regions will see token purchases and skill games instead of direct entry buttons.
Summary
This smart system allows your competitions to be accessible globally, without any extra setup on your part — keeping Raffall fair, compliant, and easy to use for both you and your entrants.
